“Last year I jumped a horse here for the first time 1.10m and 1.20m. Six months later we won the gold medal in Rio!”

The frenchman, Philippe Rozier is back to the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour to prepare his horses, hoping to find the luck of last here.
It is the third time that he comes to the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour and he shared with us a story that just sounds like a fairytale.
“Last year I have jumped with a horse here for the first time, 1.10 m and 1.20 m. Six months later we won the gold medal in Rio! It’s an incredible story.”confesses the French rider.
Philippe Rozier was at the Olympics last year in Rio de Janeiro, helping France to be crowned as Olympic Team champions.
The 54 years-old man, it is an usual presence in Vilamoura. Last year the competition that takes place in the Algarve has served as a preparation for the Olympic Games Rio 2016.
Thinking about the European championships this year and 2018 World Equestrian Games, Rozier is back again. “My priority are the Ranking competitions”.
Philippe feels relaxed in Vilamoura and he sees the show as the perfect place to build up his new horses, especially one of them. “I’m with Quartz Rouge for only a month. We jumped here for the first time and we jumped it clear. I’m very confident about this horse”.
Rozier is in the Algarve with nine horses and he explained a bit what he expects of this kind of competition. “The courses are very well designed. Also to start the season with a CSI3* is not easy and that’s what I am looking for my horses.
